I started a new segment in my blog….dvd reviews. If you look to the left, in the Categories, you will see a link ‘Clinician DVD Review”, Just click on that and it will take you to all the DVD reviews I have done so far. I have been using Giddyupflix.com. It is a GREAT resource for valuable educational material. Rent movies like Netflix, and keep them as long as you like! Pat and Linda have really spoiled me on my expectations, as they have given me much over the years, and have left some mighty large shoes for anyone else to fill. I feel let down by the program at the moment. There just isn’t enough ‘how to’ info for the higher levels in the program, so I am forced to seek help from other avenues. It would be wonderful….for me….if Linda finished her version of the program and came out with a level 3-4 to complete the red and blue packs. Until then, I am getting exactly what I need on the outside. One of the things I find is a bummer about the savvy forum is that so many people are so uptight about not being PURE Parelli. So it is difficult to ask for opinions and critiques of other clinicians, as people are afraid to answer. It would be nice to have a ‘review’ that is coming from a Parelli perspective…..so here I am. I am getting close to 8 dvd’s a month, and since I have a critical eye, am full of opinions, and have no qualms in sharing those opinions, this should be no waste of your time to stop by and give it a read.

This is a great idea!!!!!!!! I also get irritated about people being "pure Parelli". How can people believe that NO ONE else has anything of value to offer when it comes to horses? I just think it is very limiting in our journey of self improvement when you cut out talented, credible and knowledgeable people just because they are not Pat, Linda or one of their instructors. Parelli is a GREAT program and I love being a student but they are not the only people that know more than me and have stuff to teach me. It's up to me to think for myself and figure out what works for me and my horse.
ReplyDeleteI love that website, thank you so much for sharing it!!!

Although Parelli is great, you're right. There isn't enough done to develop level 3 and even less, LEVEL 4!! There are so few people who have passed level 4 and Linda and Pat need to help us get there. But until then, I've been looking at other people, digging in dressage books, picking up other stuff. Performance books and show training are really great too!
ReplyDeleteFiesta & Priscilla.....EXACTLY!
ReplyDeleteAfter my whole tongue~n~cheek thing, catwalk incident, my OLL3 audition I was shaken to my very core and it knocked me back on my original journey....self improvement in horsemanship. It dawned on me, not that this is a mystery or anything, that the few passing auditions for L4 are mostly a year old, AND, the few L4 students I see out there do "tricks" that Parelli doesn't teach. DUH Moron.....they most likely learned them somwhere else.....HELLO! Now that I have my eyes open to THAT, I am finding they actually are talking about it. And they have been. Say what? How did I miss that? Considering the new structure of instructors, there are only a handfull that can 'legally' teach L4. The dvd's dont' offer much, so where else are we to get the help we need at an affordable price? For the price of my giddyupflix membership, I might be able to afford 1-2 lessons...not clinics...lessons a year.....IF these instructors came near me.
There is awesome horsemanship everywhere. Liberty and better Online is what I am looking for. I already have the finesse & fresstyle, just need the natural!
Kaylee, your welcome!
And thanks to you all!
